		In 1965, Tony Howard, John Amatt, Bill Tweedale and Tony ‘Nick’ Nicholls would make the 1st ascent of the infamous "Troll Wall" in Norway, a 5,000 foot vertical wall which is the tallest rock face in Europe. The climb would later be described by Joe Brown ‘as one of the greatest ever achievements by British rock climbers.’ The story of the climb was written up shortly thereafter by Tony Howard, but was shelved as he moved on to other projects. Now some 45 years later, the manuscript was rediscovered and this fantastic story was made available by Vertebrae Publishing. Troll Wall, The Untold Story of the British First Ascent of Europe’s Tallest Rock Face, is not just a great piece of mountaineering literature, it’s a great and important piece of British history.
